EGM Elections Results

The results of this afternoon's EGM Elections are:

Brian McGee is therefore elected as Men's Captain. Mike Cotton will take over as Men's Vice Captain and Mike Seidman joins the committee as Men's Lower Boats Captain. The election of Overall Captain has been delayed until Boat Club Dinner tomorrow. Mike is thanked particularly for effectively acting as Men's Captain this term, until a successor to Andy Adams could be officially elected.

Bumps Cancelled!

The County Council have closed the towpath due to the foot and mouth outbreak. Bumps are therefore cancelled. (No blades are awarded and no university medals are awarded at this stage.) This is only the 7th time that Lent Bumps have been cancelled since the Lents and Mays were separated in 1887. (1915-8 due to the war, and 1895 and 1963 due to ice.) The starting positions for next year's Lent Bumps are to be decided at a Captain's meeting.
